Do I need to create an account?

No. The plugin runs entirely on your Mac. You bring an API key from Anthropic, OpenAI, or Google, and it sits in the macOS Keychain alongside your other credentials. If you run a local model through Ollama or LM Studio, you don't even need that.

Does my email get sent to some server?

Only to the AI provider you chose, using your key — the plugin calls the provider's API directly, with no middleman server. With a local model, your email never leaves the Mac at all.

Which macOS versions are supported?

macOS Sonoma (14) and newer, on Intel and Apple Silicon.

How much does it cost?

The plugin is free and open source. You pay your AI provider directly for usage — typically fractions of a cent per reply — or nothing at all with a local model.

Is it affiliated with Apple?

No. This is an independent open-source project. "Apple Mail" is used descriptively to identify the mail app it extends.
